Dual Enrollment

Current Dual Enrollment Eligibility Process

Do you qualify for dual enrollment?
1. Must have a 3.0 GPA

2. Must have qualifying Test Scores

You must have the following College Ready Test Scores in Reading, English/Writing, and Math to qualify.  Any of the following tests apply:

  • SAT - Read 24, Math 24, Eng/Writing 25
  • PSAT (currently accepted) - Read 24, Math 24, Eng/Writing 25 - SIS does not have the 2 digit scores. You must send your Collegeboard PSAT score report to your counselor to use these scores!
  • ACT - Read 19, Math 19, English 17
  • PERT - Read 106, Math 114, Writing (Eng) 103
  • NEW! The PERT will be given online through PBSC beginning April 6th.  You must make an appointment for the PERT at  https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/testing/ by using the “Schedule an Appointment” link located on the Testing website to register for the PERT exam. You will need to make more than one appointment if you decide to take more than one section of the PERT.

I qualify for dual enrollment!  How do I apply?
Here's how to apply online to Palm Beach State College as a high school Dual Enrolled student.  Go to: https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/  Click on the link for Steps & Guidelines found underneath Public/Charter schools.
Go to Step 2 and click on Apply to PBSC.  Say NO to all three questions. This will bring you to the portal in which you can enter your student number and password.  You need to remember this username/password - so write them down so you won't forget.

Attend PBSC Advising/Orientation session - Dual Enrollment Orientation is now ONLINE
The orientation is a one-time session for new students who have completed the PBSC application and have a PBSC Student ID.

Go to https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/orientation.aspx, click on the link for the Dual Enrollment Orientation, and watch the orientation video. Once you have watched the video (parent is welcome to watch too) you and your parent/legal guardian must print, initial, and sign the Dual Enrollment Agreement (there is a button linked next to the orientation video).

I completed all the steps above.  How do I register for classes?
Email the following information to your guidance counselor:
Your PBSC Student ID number
Test scores you are using to qualify (attach PSAT scores, if applicable)
Date that you completed the Dual Enrollment Orientation and Agreement

Your Counselor will email you back with information on how to register for your dual enrollment class.

Dual Enrollment Books

In order to receive your books for dual enrollment courses, you will have to see your counselor in order to get a book voucher form that you must fill out and have your counselor sign.  You will then need to bring a copy of your PBSC class schedule along with the book voucher to the bookstore at PBSC to get your books.
